Paws to Adopt was created in hopes of finding dog homes! Paws to Adopt is not actually any shelter's official website, it is a volunteer-made website, which is run by me, Mariah Mountanos.

Many of your emails regarding the dogs up for adoption will be forwarded to the shelter's volunteer coordinator or responded by myself. Please remember this is a volunteer run website, not the official shelter website. Our goal is to find all these wonderful dogs homes!

Shelters are ALWAYS filled with lots of dogs, every day new dogs come in. Where do all these dogs keep coming from? We aren't sure, but we do know that they all deserve loving homes!

So please, don't paws for another second... and ADOPT!!!

The adoption fee for dogs is $161. Puppies that are too young to have a rabies shot and therefore a license (under 4 months) have an adoption fee of $106. All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, have rabies shots, have a heartworm test, are microchipped and licensed BEFORE they leave the shelter. If you live outside Mendocino County, an dog (over 4 months) will not be licensed and the fee is $25 less! There are times the shelter is very full and therefore parts of the adoption fees are ½ off. Please contact the Adoption Coordinator for that information. If you rent you will need to bring written proof that your landlord has approved of you having a dog! If you live in Mendocino County all current dogs must be up to date on their license.
